Speech Therapist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team at Home Therapy & Wellness. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Your primary goal will be to improve communication skills, enhance cognitive function, and help patients regain independence in their daily lives through tailored speech therapy interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities to identify challenges and areas of improvement.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and the specific needs of each patient.
  • Provide speech therapy interventions, including exercises to improve articulation, language comprehension, cognitive communication, and swallowing.
  • Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques, home exercises, and strategies for improving communication and overall health.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and therapy outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings and case discussions to offer insights and contribute to patient care strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech therapy practices and incorporate evidence-based methods into patient care.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and effective treatment for all patients.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in speech therapy, preferably with senior patients or in a rehabilitation environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, along with the ability to create personalized therapy plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
